råvi x La Colombe Boutique Hotel
Interview: Catherine (råvi organics) and Aline (La Colombe Boutique Hotel)
We are grateful for the opportunity to add a touch of color and craftsmanship to the Gourmet Restaurant Zur Traube with our mouth-blown diffuser vases. Located in the charming old town of Zug, directly on the lake, the Boutique Hotel La Colombe is a true hidden gem—known for its delicious cuisine, warm atmosphere, and individually decorated rooms. Our handmade diffuser vases now complement this unique setting, adding subtle elegance to an already inspiring space. It’s an honor to contribute to a place where design, authenticity, and exceptional dining come together so beautifully.

Catherine: What makes your boutique hotel in Zug special – what sets it apart from other places?
Aline: La Colombe is a place where Zug reveals its most enchanting side: directly on the shimmering lake, nestled within the historic old town. Our spaces are housed in lovingly restored centuries-old buildings, where history and contemporary life meet in perfect harmony. We blend traditional craftsmanship with modern design, giving each room its own quiet story to tell. In summer, our Mediterranean terrace evokes a sense of lightness and escape, while in winter, warmth, charm, and genuine hospitality radiate through the old walls. We operate with deep responsibility toward our environment. We are certified organic cuisine with one star, awarded 16 Gault Millau points, and guided by the commitment to unite indulgence and sustainability in every detail.
Catherine: What does La Colombe stand for? Which values or emotions would you like to convey to your guests?
Aline: La Colombe is an oasis of tranquility—a place to return to and breathe deeply. We want to offer our guests a sense of security and comfort, shaped by warmth, understated elegance, and heartfelt hospitality. A retreat that encourages stillness and speaks gently to the soul.
Catherine: What philosophy does La Colombe follow when it comes to design, hospitality, and atmosphere?
Aline: Our philosophy is rooted in a deep love for detail. We select high-quality materials and understated, elegant designer furnishings to create spaces that whisper rather than shout. Our guests are always at the center of everything we do. As a small team, we embody genuine, unpretentious hospitality. Personal service is not just a promise—it is our daily craft.
Catherine: Is there a special experience or element in the hotel that you are particularly proud of?
Aline: Yes—our antique reception desk. It welcomes every guest with a story etched into its wood. From the very moment of arrival, it evokes a sense of timelessness and, in its own wonderful way, tells of the magic that lives within this house.
Catherine: What inspired you to choose the mouth-blown vases from råvi for the restaurant at La Colombe?
Aline: We were immediately captivated by their design, reminiscent of the pinecones of a quiet forest—crafted in colors that feel like small fragments of nature. Each vase stands on its own, confident yet understated. At the same time, their natural, calming aesthetic harmonizes beautifully with our cuisine, which is rooted in high-quality products, clear flavors, and respectful craftsmanship. The vases carry the same subtle elegance that defines our dishes: a deliberate absence of the unnecessary, allowing the essential to speak for itself. A small twig or a single flower is enough to continue this idea on the table—simple, nature-inspired, and full of sensitivity.
Catherine: What role do handmade, individual pieces play in your interior concept?
Aline: Handmade items carry a special soul. In each piece, you can feel the love, time, and dedication that went into its creation. This individuality is important to us—because it creates those small details that bring warmth and character to a space.
Catherine: What do you appreciate about the aesthetic, haptics, or atmosphere created by the råvi vases?
Aline: The vases radiate the same softness, closeness to nature, and quiet elegance that define our house. At times playful, at times romantic—yet always imbued with a sense of calm. They carry emotions within them that don’t need to be loud in order to resonate deeply.
Catherine: råvi stands for holistic wellbeing rituals – how important is the theme of wellbeing in your hotel?
Aline: Wellbeing is at the heart of what we do. A stay at La Colombe should feel like coming home: slowing down, letting go, and feeling seen and cared for. We want to offer our guests moments that remain with them—long after they have left.
Catherine: Do you see opportunities to offer råvi wellbeing moments at the hotel in the future?
Aline: Absolutely. We welcome any form of collaboration and are always open to new ideas. Rituals such as Gua Sha workshops or small wellbeing moments would suit our house and our philosophy beautifully..
Catherine: I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful collaboration.
Aline: We sincerely thank you for the wonderful collaboration — and we look forward to everything we will create together in the future.
